CAPE TOWN FASHION WEEK 2017 (Part 9) – Chilling with Designer Extraordinaire DAVID TLALE

So my favourite time of the year was two weeks ago – Cape Town Fashion Week and I once again was blessed to receive EXCLUSIVE ACCESS to some of the designer shows. View my Cape Town Fashion Week page on this blog for reviews of the runway shows I attended during #MBFWCT17. In between shows I even received the blessed opportunity to hang out with my ULTIMATE FAV THE KING OF SOUTH AFRICAN FASHION HIMSELF: DAVID TLALE.

Now all who know me know that I am a David Tlale groupie! It was not my first time meeting Tlale as I had the blessed opportunity to meet him after his show at Cape Town Fashion Week in 2015. However, the moment then was brief and did not get a chance to have a chat with him. This time I had a blessed opportunity to briefly hang out with my FAVOURITE DESIGNER and I have to say he is so friendly, incredibly FABULOUS and ultra CHIC.

David Tlale is a South African designer whose label is the epitome of luxury high fashion. Tlale created his label 14 years ago and since then receive international acclaim. He has showcased his designs at Cape Town Fashion Week, SA Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week. Tlale has also won many awards including:

  • The African Icon of Hope Award was presented to David Tlale by the Executive Director, Blue pearl Services International and the founder; Global Fashion for Development, the special guest of honor, the first lady of NigeriaHer Excellency Mrs. Dame Patience Jonathan
  • Designer of The Year in the African Diaspora in New York City (USA), presented by Applause Magazine based in Manhattan, for his continuous leading efforts of promoting African Fashion on International Platforms

There are no words to accurately describe how much I love David Tlale – he is a fashion genius.
