CAPE TOWN FASHION WEEK 2017 (Part 6) – Ituen Basi AW17

As you know Cape Town Fashion Week 2017 continued this past weekend and it was on FIRE!! The new venue was Salt River Studios as the Camps Bay venue could not hold due to the strong wind. I had the blessed opportunity to once again attend some of the shows and I will be giving you EXCLUSIVE DEETS into all the FRONT ROW action!

Ituen Basi is an African label first launched in Lagos, Nigeria.  The label started a new era of the Ankara print interpretation in Nigeria and Africa. The label has garnered critical acclaim having won so many awards including 2013 FASHION EXCELLENCE AWARD (Society of the Performing Arts in Nigeria (Lagos)), 2012 DESIGNER OF THE YEAR, AFRICA (Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Africa (Johannesburg)), 2011 MOST CREATIVE DESIGNER (Arise Magazine Fashion Week (Lagos)), 2010 EMERGING DESIGNER, AFRICA (Africa Fashion Week (Johannesburg)), and 2009 MOST INNOVATIVE DESIGNER (Arise Africa Fashion Week (Johannesburg)).

Now my friends will tell you I LOVE ANKARA PRINT! And so I particularly LOVED the Ituen Basi AW17 collection. It oozed elegance and sophistication. I loved the bold patterns and bright colours which gave the collection warmth.

Here are some of my favourite highlights from the show:
