Its FASHION SEASON in Cape Town, South Africa – and specifically CAPE TOWN FASHION WEEK (or as its more formally known MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK CAPE TOWN). I once again was blessed to have received some invites to some of the designer shows and I will be giving you EXCLUSIVE ACCESS to all the FRONT ROW action.
HABITS by Jenny le Roux
The HIGHLIGHT of my Day 1 of Cape Town Fashion Week -the Habits show had me blown away. The Habits label is one of South Africa’s top designer labels having won many awards including winning the SA Fashion Award (three times), the Marie Claire Prix d’Excellance de Mode Award for Best Retailer, and won the Fair Lady Best Fashion Brand Award. It is known for its simple, elegant but equally quirky ready to wear garments. Jenny le Roux is the owner and designer of the Habits brand. She has a wealth of experience in fashion and worked as Fashion Editor of FairLady Magazine SA for fifteen years.
Her AW17 collection definitely blew me away. I loved the soft flowing layering, the bold colours and camouflage prints. Velvet was the theme of this year’s collection, along with the introduction of the playful boyish charm of menswear into the womenswear label.
Model, television personality, blogger/vlogger and businesswoman Liezel Van Der Westhuizen was both the opening and closing act of the show and she of course did a superb job.
Here are some of my favourite highlights from the HABITS by Jenny le Roux show:
